Here is a conversation you would have heard between Mr. Hester and me if you’d been at the hester household last night.
Me: “Will you please get that out? Be careful, it’s kinda floppy.”
Me: “Wait. Wait. You might want to put something stiff under it when you pull it out.”
Me: “ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME? I don’t want it to flop and spill stuff all over the floor, I just cleaned.”
Mr. H: “You don’t think I can just pull it out with these?”
Me: “No, that’s what I’m trying to tell you, it’s kinda floppy and might try to fold and spill stuff if you just try to pull it straight out.”
Mr. H: “Whoa! Exactly where did you get this thing from? It’s very flexible.”
I bought one of the new Silicone 8x8 square baking pans. See these silicone dishes are floppy and foldie to begin with and to try out my new toy I made some brownies. You know the chocolate, gooey kind that has chopped up Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups distributed throughout. Anyways, I wasn’t sure how stable it would be after heat was applied and was just getting my little Magpie to sleep when the timer for the brownies went off. I hadn’t shown Mr. Hester my new toy so he didn’t realize how flexible it was and I was afraid that the hot gooey brownie mix would end up on the kitchen floor if the dish folded on him while he was retrieving it from the oven. I should have put it on a baking sheet and then put the whole thing in the oven, but that is a lesson learned.
Oh, BTW, the brownies were a BIG hit. We each ate a piece last night, Mr. Hester took a 4x4 in square piece for breakfast (I think) and Teeny took some for lunch. There is a little 1x1 piece left so I guess I will be making some more brownies tonight.
