We're back, complete with busted up knee and sore muscles. It seems that the last day we were skiing, at about 30 minutes before they were going to shut down the lifts, I decided to go one way and my skis decided to go another so my knee suffered from it. Going to visit the knee specialist Thursday because I'm on crutches and pretty sure that I tore something important in there. Maybe some super glue or Duct Tape will fix it back up. It totally sucked having to travel back to Texas in the backseat of a pickup truck for 14 hours with a banged up knee and no "Happy Pills" to ease the pain and my Dr. won't prescribe any Happy Pills until after I see the Orthopedic Surgeon. Oh well, it could be worse, I could have broken something - guess that's what I get for getting my fat, forty yr old ass up on some ski's 7 months after giving birth. I'm pretty sure that my ligaments are still loose from being pregnant. Lesson learned, but I'm going again next year - so there!!!!!
Grand Lake, Colorado is very very lovely and I suggest that you visit there if you ever get the chance. Go to your search engine and type in Grand Lake, Co, click on some of the links and look around. The house we stayed in (HMF Lodge) was right at the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park and backed up to a small lake (which was frozen). We parked the snowmobiles in the front yard and just drove down the street to get to the trails. It is a very nice little town and close to Granby, Colorado which has a nice little ski resort. Ya'll should remember Granby, Co. from last summer when a muffler shop owner welded himself into a bulldozer and plowed through the middle to town. It snowed on us several days and we woke up to about 4 or 5 inches on the trucks, which is very exciting when you live in Texas and don't get 4 inches the whole year.
