For some reason Max Headroom has been stuck in my mind for a while, playing over and over, like a bad dream.  I think that he was ahead of his time and an brilliant idea.

Here are some facts about Max:

1. He was created after Edison Carter was knocked unconscious in a motorcycle accident, striking his head on an underground garage exit gate labeled "MAX HEADROOM 2.3m.".
2. The show originated in the UK in 1984
3. Ran in the U.S. the spring and fall of 1987 and 3 more episodes in fall of 1988 – during the strikes
4. There wasn’t enough buffer or memory space to create more than just his head and shoulders.
5. Briefly was the spokesperson for “New” Coke.
6. Max stuttered and repeated himself because of faulty software
7. There were only about 14 episodes ever created.
8. It ran against “Dallas” here in the states which is why the show didn’t survive.
9. It was the first and only Cyberpunk TV show.
10. It introduced the word “cyberspace” to the English language

But then again - I was rather facinated by the Dr. Who series for years!
