Just got the call - Most Favorite Aunt left her broken and bruised earthly body here for us to turn back into dust and went to be with Jesus. She is survived by 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 1 sister, 5 brothers, 32 nieces & nephews, about 250 friends and other relatives. We are going to have two "viewings of the body", one here where she has lived for the past 40 years and one where she was born so that all the relatives can attend.
Part of me is sad and part of me is glad - the last couple of days have been kinda "Hurry up and wait". We didn't want to let her go, but we couldn't stand to watch her suffer. She was so full of life. She will be buried this Sunday which would have been her 65 birthday. DH is playing poker with his buddies tonight, so I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning to tell him. We get up at 5 a.m. so I should be able to catch him before anyone else does. I'm gonna grab some kleenex, the baby monitor and go sit in the hot tub and finish crying - the tears aren't very good for my keyboard - so I will see ya'll later.
P.S. Go hug your loved ones very very tight for me - think I'll let the little princess sleep with us tonight.
