This is how the bubba's in Texas swim - with their hats on.  You can't see it, but the side of the pool was littered with beer cans.  Hope everyone had a good 4th.

After slathering Magpie with SPF 60 we took her for her first swim in the "big boys" pool.  She loved it and threw a fit everytime we took her out of the water.  Here she is in her cage.  We had a cage set up to corral all the babies - since everyone is breeding right now.

We had brisket, ribs, cole slaw, potato salad, squash casserole, 2 kinds of pasta salad, green salad, baked beans, cheesecake and ice cream.  I like taking pictures of food, but was a little shy about doing so in front of all our friends.  Really, I didn't want to field the questions as to the why I would take pictures of food and to publicize the fact that I have a blog.  I'm going to have to run 6 miles every day this week to work off the excessive calories that were consumed this weekend.

We took the boat out on Lake Grapevine, Monday night, to watch the fireworks.  Cruised around a bit then found our friends, anchored off, in a little cove.  There were 11 boats tied together so we went to the end and joined them.  When we tied up to them a friend of ours, Dee the Man Whore, jumped on our boat, bounded over to me and proceeded to straddle me with his wet, half-naked body.  Not that I minded at all, it's just that my sons were sitting right there and I was in a conversation with them so didn't have time to prepare for the half-naked wet body squirming around in my lap.  He is the man, sitting on the yellow noodle, at the far right in the top picture.  You can't tell much, but is he ever cute.  Very, very nice teeth, beautiful smile, blue eyes and sexy gray hair (nice body too).  I have a crush on him so it was pretty exciting for him to squirm around on my lap and have those lovely baby blues about 6 inches away from mine.  I thought for a minute that he was going to kiss me, but he probably remembered that Mr. H. was standing right behind him and Mr. H. only allows our best man from our wedding to kiss me.  So no kiss from the beautiful half naked man.  It's ok, Mr. H. more than made up for it later.
