Several years ago, when my oldest son was still in High School he was on a swim team. We were at one of his meets and I was standing behind a group of about 6 moms who looked to be about 40 to 45ish. They were discussing some of the very muscular young bodies - very young as this was a High School meet. My husband was standing near me and kept snickering because of the way they were discussing the young men in detail. I mean, have you ever seen the little suits the swimmers wear, doesn't leave much to the imagination, if you know what I mean. Good thing they keep it kinda cool in there.
Anyways, the next event was getting ready to start and they were going on and on about this one particular young man who was getting on the block in lane 5. They were talking about how great his six pack was and how broad his shoulders were and how cute his little bum was and they just wanted to grab it. One of them started to say what she would do with him, if she got ahold of him, and another one reminded her that she was married. She said, "So what, I'm just window shopping". Window Shopping - give me a break, these were High School boys for goodness sake - how gross. I couldn't see the swimmers very well, as I was standing behind them, but husband was holding his gut dying with laughter and giving me a funny look. I told him that not all mothers coveted young swimmers bodies and to quit looking at me like that.
They had gotten my curiosity up so I stepped to one side to see just how hot this little boy was. I counted down the blocks to block 5 and then looked up at the swimmer OMG - IT WAS MY SON. Ewwwwwww how gross, 40 year old mothers were talking about him like he was on the spread of playgirl magazine. Now he is 6' 2" 185 lbs with brown curly hair and dark brown eyes. Very handsome, if I say so myself (really, I'm not partial), but I certainly don't want any one who was clearly 20 to 25 years older than him to say so themselves. Husband was rolling on the floor now, because he knew who they were talking about the whole time and was waiting for me to figure it out. I'm sure that I had a look of horror on my face and just wanted to say "Shame on you, that's my son" to the nasty old hags who were ogling him.
It gets even better, later that evening, when we got home I told above story to oldest son, in front of several of his friends and mentioned some of the moms who had been standing in the group. The look on his face was precious. Now I know why hubby was waiting for me to figure out who they were talking about.
